About Our Church

Forest Presbyterian Church is a congregation of the Presbyterian Church in America (PCA), a denomination founded in 1973 which is dedicated to the inspiration of Scripture, the sovereignty of God, and the commission to go into all the world preaching the gospel.  

Forest Presbyterian Church was founded in 1867 by a handful of folk dedicated to these beliefs.  We trace our roots even further back to the Protestant Reformation and its five great creedal statements: Sola Scriptura (Scripture Alone), Soli Gratia (Grace Alone), Sola Fide (Faith Alone), Solus Christus (Christ Alone), and Soli Deo Gloria (To God Alone be the Glory).  In these five statements we acknowledge how we know God and His way of salvation (through Scripture alone); how He saves us (by grace alone); how we can please Him (through faith alone); who our Savior is (Jesus Christ alone); and why we were created and redeemed (for the glory of God alone).
